The Blackwood Brothers
The Blackwood Brothers Quartet, founded in 1934 in Mississippi by brothers Roy, Doyle, and James Blackwood along with Roy’s son R.W., emerged from a deeply musical family and quickly became one of the most influential groups in Southern Gospel history.Â

The Speer Family
The Speer Family was formed in 1921 by George Thomas "Dad" Speer and consisted of he, his wife Lena Brock Speer and his sister and brother-in-law Pearl and Logan Claborn.Â

The Carter Family
The Original Carter Family, began performing together in 1927, comprised of Alvin Pleasant "AP" Carter, his wife Sara Carter and Sara's cousin Maybelle Carter, they participated in Ralph Peer's historic Bristol recording sessions which ultimatley led to the development of mainstream country music as we know it.
